Acai Berry Side Effects Thus Far Known
Currently, researchers are just beginning to really delve into learning all about the acai berry, and its many wondrous benefits. So far, one study from the University of Florida has demonstrated that certain concentrations of the fruit can actually significantly reduce the presence of leukemia cells. However, little has been done scientifically in regard to the possibility of side effects. Some remark that it is not of significant importance, because testing acai berry side effects would be like tested the side effects of an apple, or another fruit.
Thus far, acai berry side effects are primarily unknown, and it is thought that the berry itself is completely free of side effects. However, some acai products that are on the market are also composed with a variety of other ingredients, and it is those ingredients that can cause the actually side effects.
For instance, a lot of companies include the use of guarana in their acai products. Guanara is another great discovery from the Amazon, just like the acai berry. However, it contains caffeine, and not only does it possess stimulant like properties, but also appetite suppressant properties as well. So, many of the acai products that also contain the stimulant guanara, will likely possess the same or similar side effects of caffeinated products. There is no proof of any acai berry side effects specifically in these products.
With the vast multitude of acai products on the market one cannot be sure of any exact acai berry side effects as they are all produced in different ways, in different concentrations, and mixed with different things. So while acai itself under close inspection does not appear to pose any side effects, the vast majority of acai products on the market may have side effects, and it is recommended that one checks to see what research studies have been done on these individual products, or to gain knowledge as to their production, concentration, and the combination of ingredients that are used.
An example of an acai product that is mixed with a tremendous about of other ingredients, is that of acai berry juice. Some juices on the market are not made with the proper form of acai, only contain an incredibly small concentration of acai (sometimes a mere extract,) and contain loads of sugar and other ingredients. The same goes for supplements, some are better than others.
The best way to ensure that there will not be any acai berry side effects, is to ensure the use of a quality acai-only supplement. Youíll get all of the healthy benefits without having to worry about any possible harmful ingredients, or side effects. A consumer should therefore be scrupulous about finding out what they are putting into their bodies, especially while using such a newly discovered ingredient (for North America anyway) as many of the acai products on the market have not each been researched specifically, and some may simply be a money grab.
